HOW TO HANDLE YOUR TACCHINO HAT

When it comes to caring for your hat, treat it like the true friend it is. Handling your hat correctly lends to its longevity, and saves you constant touch ups. Follow our simple recommendations and you and your hat are bound to enjoy happy trails for years to come:

  1. Don and adjust your hat by placing both hands at the base of the crown, never the brim nor the crease.
  2. Always rest your hat upside down by its crown.
  3. Never rest the hat flat on a surface, particularly if it has a snap brim, hats with their brims dipped in the front and back should rest with no pressure on the brim area.
  4. Do not leave your hat in your parked car during the heat of the day. Better yet, don’t leave your hat in the car at all.
  5. When looking for a place to put your hat, the best and most appropriate spot is on the top of your head!
  6. Lastly, don’t forget your hat cover at home, especially if you are planning to spend the day in the rain!

TACCHINO HAT WATERPROOFING TREATMENT & DURABILITY QUALITIES EXPLAINED:

Unlike most hats, Tacchino’s felt hat bodies are soaked in a waterproof treatment that greatly improves the longevity and resistance of the hat under bad weather conditions and fluid-related accidents (beer included). During direct and comparative laboratory tests conducted in our research and development department, every X quality manufactured by Tacchino holds water for over 7 hours before starting to leak through. Due to fur composition, the durability improves for the higher X qualities.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH STORING MY HAT SAFELY IN MY VEHICLE?

Every fabric, felt included, maintains a percentage of water and moisture inside its fibers. In a non-controlled environment (the heat of a car or proximity to a hot surface), the water evaporates, and the hat shrinks! This logic also applies if you get caught in inclement weather, you will need to dry out your hat. Hang or place it correctly where it will maintain its original shape. Let it dry gently, in a temperate environment. No… Do not hang it next to your wood stove for 3 days!

CLEANING ADVICE & HAT CARE TIPS

Did you know that you can keep your new hat in tip-top condition with regular touch-ups done at home with minimal time, energy, and cost?

  1. Use only a soft-bristled brush or a damp bath towel for the daily removal of dust. Air compressors are also great tools for this purpose!
  2. When stains are too deep to remove by brushing, try using a small-pored rubber sponge.
  3. For marks that sponging will not remove, sanding is the next step to take, but be cautious! Only use a fine grit sandpaper.
