WHY AN ITALIAN COMPANY MAKES COWBOY HATS?
Tacchino likes to make products that serve a purpose. It is as simple as that. It’s where we find our own purpose, it’s what we do, and it’s who we are!
Not surprisingly, Italy has its own ranching traditions. You call them “Italian cowboys,” we call them Butteri in Tuscany, elsewhere, they are referred to as breeders and farmers. For many centuries, these skilled horsemen gathered cows and livestock in the rural areas of Italy while wearing a good, solid hat to protect them from the elements while working the land.
From the very beginning, Tacchino has seen these cowboys through the good and bad times. From weddings and celebrations of life, the First and Second World Wars, and then through the Reconstruction to today. Today, when self expression becomes inalienable and western and fashion are mixing and merging creating uniqueness inside and outside the borders of the Great West.

TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE MAKING THE DIFFERENCE
Tacchino began making cowboy hats in Italy in the early ’80s. It was a turning point in the western horse riding scene when, coincidentally, a number of Argentinian Horses and American Quarter Horses also made their debut on the European circuit. Since then, Tacchino has developed lines of technical headwear for contestants and trail-riders, following the evolution of equestrian style and demand in Europe.
Due to the recognized appreciation of Tacchino Hats from overseas, in 2018 Tacchino opened its American headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Today, Tacchino Hats are distributed through the trusted hands of the best custom hat shapers, stores, and western outlets.
